Celebrating the fruits of farmworker overtime pay in the nation’s capital

In a Washington, D.C. grocery store, Randy Villegas saw a sign saying the fruits and vegetables had come all the way from the fields and orchards from his home in Kern County. Villegas reflects on how a new law that will eventually require farmworkers to get overtime pay gives recognition to the families who put food on the nation’s tables. “Kern County’s farmworkers truly feed the world.” Read on at South Kern Sol.
