Homelessness has many faces in Boyle Heights

A 59-year-old man who gave everything away. A single mother of five children just putting her life back together. A 17-year-old high school student who said being homeless has irrevocably changed her view on life. As Los Angeles city leaders try to get more homeless people into shelters, Boyle Heights Beats reporters interviewed local people who know homelessness first hand. “I didn’t want anyone to know my situation.
