San Diego's legendary muralist

Victor Ochoa is an original Chicano Park muralist; he continues to advocate for immigrant rights and representation through his art. Deported to Mexico with his family in 1956 during Operation Wetback, Victor has overcome countless barriers. Now a U.S. citizen recognized for his contribution to San Diego’s art culture, Ochoa works with youth as an arts educator in all corners of the city. "I feel like i learned to — through osmosis or something — turn the negativity to creative positive energy and color." Watch the video from Media Arts Center San Diego.muralist
