1,800 young writers and counting

Founded in 2011 with the hopes of promoting youth literacy in Sacramento, 916 Ink has published the works of over 1,800 young writers, produced three short films written by kids, and crusaded for literacy in the wider community. Recent statistics show thirteen percent of Sacramento County residents lacking basic literacy skills. "Writing and publishing provides young people with the critical tools they need to achieve success, both academically and socially." The report is on Access Sacramento.916-ink-300x186
