Advocating for Merced's youth in D.C.

Claudia Gonzalez recently joined a trip to Washington, D.C., to meet with legislators and organizers working on social justice and equity issues. The five-day visit left her with the seeds of leadership and advocacy skills that she intends to nurture for life. "Some of the issues we advocated for included health access for undocumented people, immigration reform and youth investment. That last one is critical in Merced, where city leaders seem to have forgotten the youth and have completely underfunded opportunities and resources for them to prosper." More of her reflections are on We'Ced.DC
