Women discusses sexual harassment and pay gap in service industry

Organizers hoping to generate a community discussion screened “Rape on the Night Shift,” a documentary about immigrant women facing sexual abuse while working in the janitorial industry. The film was followed by a panel discussion that explored the harassment and abuse issue, as well as the pay gap and overwrought hours for working women. “We hope to build a movement where it forces society to look at real solutions for safety for workers, particularly for safe environments for women, where we don’t have to deal with sexual assault or sexual harassment when we go to work.” Read more on Voicewaves.
