Filipino youth program brings out families, celebrates culture

A seven-week summer program called Sama Sama culminated in a live show celebrating Filipino culture through art, including dance, music, poetry and multimedia. Participants and audiences said the program fills a gap for Filipino youth in Long Beach. “They don’t really teach Filipino culture in Cabrillo High School. The things we learn in Sama Sama makes us proud to be Filipino.” Find out more on Voicewaves.
