Podcast: Are HIV prevention drugs reaching teens?

More gay men are taking Truvada, a drug that prevents HIV infection, every year.  But do younger people — particularly young black men and transgender women — know about the drug, and can they access it if they want it? An HIV doctor talks with a Youth Radio reporter about the perception of the drug and its accessibility. "When you’re talking about inner–city kids, a lot of the black American adolescents are of lower socioeconomic status, and that impacts everything from their education and their ability to know about it and be exposed, and also whether their insurance will cover it and whether they have insurance. I think that speaks to a much larger issue in the country." Download or hear the complete segment on Youth Radio.
