Choosing no debt over my dream school

Since middle school, Nanette Thompson has dreamed of going to UCLA — it seemed like the perfect springboard to a career as a broadcaster and publicist. But at a time when student debt is crippling younger generations, she got a full ride to a school close to home. She knew financial freedom would help her pursue a career she would love. “Not having to worry about finances will allow me to enjoy college. Making my LA dreams more of an affordable reality, just in time for grad school.” Her commentary aired on Youth Radio.
