New law allows undocumented drivers to get licenses

A new law allowing undocumented drivers to get licenses brings relief to many, but doubts remain about whether a resident’s immigration status being listed on the card will justify deportation anyway. The application process is harder for some than others, but there are resources to help people get through it. “Often I wouldn’t take myself or my kids to the doctor, even if we were sick in the middle of the night, for fear of being pulled over.” More details are on South Kern Sol.
