Running for their lives – Boyle Heights Bridge Runners

Neighborhood resident David Gómez founded the Boyle Heights Bridge Runners in 2013 with the idea of getting the community together actively. He wondered why only affluent neighborhoods seemed to have clubs like this. Residents here struggle with health issues like obesity, and a running group presents a social way to exercise. “We share thoughts and ideas and things that are happening locally.
