Dealing with depression, without family support

Amber Carvarlez suffered emotionally when her mother died, but she felt like she needed to hide her sadness from her family. Hiding it, she says, made it even worse. "My family in America know that life in the Philippines could be much harder. So they choice to focus on getting past hardships and not falling down a rabbit hole of sadness. But that doesn’t make it any easier for me." Her commentary is on Youth Radio.
