A Richmond local gets a glimpse of the globe

Monet Boyd always wanted to travel the world, but she didn't think it would come so soon. During her junior year at El Cerrito High School, she received an ambassador position with Global Glimpse—a non-profit that gives global education to high school students from diverse backgrounds. The program is meant to foster activism, community service, youth leadership, and global citizenship. "Many of the people I came across struggled to feed their families daily. As we became friends, I realized that despite having nearly nothing they barely complained... and that put things into perspective in my own life." Read Monet's full account on Richmond Pulse.nica
