A year later, Greenfield residents reap benefits of local garden

The Greenfield Walking Group received a plot of land a year ago from the City of Bakersfield, to build a community garden.  The group is specifically targeting young children, hoping to curb the youth obesity epidemic, by teaching them about gardening and healthy eating.  It also provides much needed safe place for young people.  “This is a neighborhood plagued by violence, and in need of a place where children and young adults can go to be safe and do positive things.
